ASIR technique reduces radiation from CT angiography

Vancouver, BC - Adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASIR, GE Healthcare), an addition to the growing list of techniques for reducing radiation exposure from computed tomography (CT), has been validated in a large clinical trial [1].

Results of the Estimated Radiation Dose of Coronary CT Angiography Using Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ERASIR) study are published in the September 2010 issue of the American Journal of Roentgenology.
